Inspiration
The immensity of nature humbles, as mountains encircle, fostering a sense of unity. Reintroducing nature to the cityscape involves mountains' grandeur, boulders' motion, and vibrant plant forms and hues.
Design a seating element that allow people to feel closer to nature, close to the ground. Just like they’re sitting on a rock in desert, which enables people to experience the beauty and feeling of nature within the cityscape. Give people a feeling of relaxing and comfort.
Ideation
Inspired by the textures on the surfaces of the dead cholla plant. Thinking the way of insects interact with the wood and bring it into the design.
Mock up
Based on the concept for people to sit in different ways and positions. Design a seating element which will allow people to sit in different directions or even lay down. Give people a strong sense of relaxing and comfort.

Patterns create shadows. Provide different shapes as the sun move.

The curvature at the bottom of this rocking chair can add a sense of relaxing. Just like people sit on those organic elements in nature and desert.

Use wool fabric for upholstery. Make people feel calm and comfort when sit on it.
